5 years agoHouston Astros first baseman Yordan Alvarez will try and replicate his fantastic first half when the team opens up the second half of the season on Thursday. The rookie has been fantastic, slashing .342/.415/.726 through his first 19 professional games with seven doubles, seven home runs and 25 runs batted in. Alvarez clearly cannot maintain this pace of production but has emerged as a must-own in most fantasy formats. He is 10-for-20 (.500) with runners in scoring position and has been a dynamite choice in DFS leagues when the Astros are at home. Alvarez is slashing .370/.453/.739 with nine extra-base hits and 17 runs batted in through 13 games played at Minute Maid Park. If Alvarez is still available, he is absolutely worth a pickup.--Joey C - RotoBaller
