Can Kyle Stanley Turn His Lack of Success in Majors Around?
7 years agoKyle Stanley will hope to build off of his recent T2 sudden-death playoff loss to Bryson DeChambeau at the Memorial Tournament, but this isn't the first tournament that Stanley has shown robust finishes at lately. In his last six events, the 30-year-old American golfer has produced four top-15 finishes and five cuts made. However, these weekly PGA events have not appeared to be the 38th-ranked golfer's main issue. Coming into the U.S. Open this week, Stanley is only 5-for-13 lifetime in cuts made in Majors. The American's cut-rate is slightly enhanced when looking at just U.S. Open results, making two of his four career cuts here, albeit never finishing better than 53rd-place, which came in 2009 as an amateur. Stanley will lack the driving distance to compete at Shinnecock Hills but should make up for it with his remarkable ball-striking capabilities. At his $7,200 price tag on DraftKings, he makes for a boom-or-bust GPP option given his lack of Major results and driving distance.
