Bryce Elder Starting On Monday
2 years agoAtlanta Braves rookie right-hander Bryce Elder will make the start on Monday for the start of a three-game series against the Washington Nationals. Elder is fully expected to finish the regular season in the team's starting rotation with Spencer Strider (oblique) on the injured list. The 23-year-old will be pitching in just his ninth major-league game on Monday (eight starts). So far, he's gone 1-3 with a 3.38 ERA (4.09 FIP), a 1.32 WHIP and a 36:21 K:BB in 40 innings pitched. He'll be a decent streaming option in fantasy on Monday against a Nationals team that he limited to an earned run on four hits while walking two and striking out six in 5 2/3 frames in his most recent start on Sept. 21.
