The Cincinnati Reds selected Texas Tech pitcher Bryce Bonnin with the 84th overall pick in the third round in the 2020 MLB draft on Thursday. The Reds followed that up with St. Edward High School outfielder Mac Wainwright in the fourth round and Notre Dame pitcher Joe Boyle in the fifth round. Bonnin has been inconsistent in the rotation in college but does feature two plus pitches in his fastball and slider. He throws across his body and is more of a max-effort guy, potentially leading to a relief role. Wainwright, a 17-year-old committed to Ohio State, is a potential impact player but will take time to develop. Boyle, a 6-foot-7 right-hander, can reach 102 mph on the radar gun but needs better control and command of his pitches.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
