The Cleveland Browns signed tight end Marcus Santos-Silva to an undisclosed deal on Monday. Santos-Silva, who stands at 6-foot-6 and 261 pounds, will make the switch from being a forward in college basketball to football. He played hoops the last two seasons for Texas Tech and averaged 4.7 points and 4.1 rebounds per game in his final season last year. The Browns already have David Njoku and Harrison Bryant at the top of their TE depth chart, but head coach Kevin Stefanski often employs two-tight end sets on offense. Former basketball players have successfully transitioned to tight end in the NFL, including Tony Gonzalez and Antonio Gates, but Santos-Silva will have a long way to go to get anywhere near those two legends.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
