Broncos Defense Will Be A Popular Play This Week
3 years agoThe Denver Broncos defense is allowing the third-fewest points per game (18.2) and will face a Detroit Lions team that is putting up the fourth-fewest points per game (16.9). Through 13 weeks, it's clear that Denver's defense is the strength of this team. Rookie first-round cornerback Patrick Surtain II has come on strong in recent weeks with three interceptions in the last two games (one returned for a touchdown), and star pass-rusher Bradley Chubb is moving past his ankle injury and is starting to see more time on the field. Despite trading linebacker Von Miller to the Los Angeles Rams midseason, this defensive unit remains talented. Third-year defensive end Dre'Mont Jones has also emerged as a pass-rushing force, tallying 16.5 disruptions in the last five games. Denver's D has top-five fantasy upside against Detroit at home this weekend.
