Broncos Defense Stout Again Versus Jacksonville
3 years agoThe Denver Broncos defense had the pleasure of facing Jacksonville Jaguars rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence in Week 2. The No. 1 overall pick started off strong with a long touchdown connection to wideout Marvin Jones Jr., but the Denver D stiffened after that and allowed only 13 points in the 23-13 win. Star pass-rusher Von Miller recorded another sack and the secondary picked off two passes, including first-rounder Patrick Surtain II's first of his career. A late kickoff return for a touchdown hurt Denver's overall points allowed total for the week, but all in all, the defense turned in another strong performance against a weaker opponent. On the negative side, Bradley Chubb (ankle) left the game and was unable to return after missing Week 1. Even if Chubb can't play in Week 3, the Broncos defense will be a no-brainer play against the New York Jets after rookie QB Zach Wilson threw four picks this weekend.
