Brian McCann Retiring
5 years agoAtlanta Braves catcher Brian McCann announced that he is retiring after the team's 13-1 loss to the Cardinals in Game 5 of the National League Division Series. The 35-year-old seven-time All-Star will finish his career with an overall slash line of .262/.337/.452 with 1,590 hits, 282 home runs and 1,018 RBI. He also earned a Silver Slugger six times. McCann spent the first nine years of his career with the Braves before playing three seasons with the Yankees and two with the Astros, where he won a World Series ring. The left-handed slugger was one of the best hitting catchers in his prime with the Braves.
