Brendan Rodgers Slightly Ahead In Rehab
5 years agoColorado Rockies second baseman Brendan Rodgers (shoulder) is slightly ahead of schedule in his rehab from surgery to fix a torn labrum in his right shoulder and has moved to throwing from 120 feet. It's good news, but Rodgers won't be ready for the start of the regular season and likely won't be a factor for the Rockies until sometime in May. The 23-year-old hit .350 at Triple-A Albuquerque but struggled to a .224 average with no home runs in 25 games in his first taste of the big leagues last year. He has the potential to put up fantasy relevant numbers at Coors Field if he's starting at second base when he's healthy, but he can be ignored in mixed league drafts for now. Ryan McMahon and Garrett Hampson should split time at the keystone until Rodgers is ready.
