Brandon Nimmo Has Big Day During Doubleheader
2 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo had a big day at the plate on Tuesday in the doubleheader sweep of the Washington Nationals. Nimmo finished 6-for-8 with two doubles, two home runs and six RBI. Heading into the final game of the regular season on Wednesday, the 29-year-old is hitting .274/.367/.433 with an .800 OPS, 16 home runs, 64 RBI, 102 runs scored and three stolen bases in 580 at-bats across a career-high 151 games in 2022. The Mets are hoping that Nimmo can continue to swing a hot bat heading into this weekend's wild-card series against the San Diego Padres, especially with Starling Marte (finger) looking unlikely to make his return.
