Brandon Nimmo Absent for Series Opener on Friday
Brandon Nimmo (neck) is absent from the team's starting lineup for Friday's divisional clash against the Atlanta Braves at Truist Park. Tyrone Taylor will make another start in left field and will bat seventh versus Braves left-hander Joey Wentz. Nimmo is missing a second straight game with neck stiffness and could wind up on the injured list with an injury that has plagued him in the past. He's hitting only .230 (14-for-61) with a homer, two doubles and eight RBI in 17 games in the month of August, but the 32-year-old left-handed hitter has reached the 20-homer mark already for the third straight season while slashing .254/.325/.436 with a .762 OPS, 68 RBI, 62 runs scored and 12 stolen bases in 122 games. Taylor will see extended run in New York's outfield if Nimmo misses more time, but he's not as exciting for fantasy purposes.
