Brad Marchand Out Sunday Versus Chicago
7 years agoBoston Bruins forward Brad Marchand (lower body) will not play on Sunday afternoon versus the Chicago Blackhawks. Marchand played the first half of the Bruins home-and-home series against the Blackhawks on Saturday, which included an awkward collision between him and Anthony Duclair. The Bruins are heavy favorites to maintain their second-place position in the Atlantic Division, so Boston may be holding out Marchand as an added precaution. The 29-year-old may also be earning some extra rest, as the Bruins will play a league-high 16 games to finish the regular season. Boston has been rolling on a six-game win streak even though they've been missing the likes of top-line center Patrice Bergeron and rookie defenseman Charlie McAvoy, and they will now try to keep winning without Marchand. Keep an eye open to see if Marchand will be back in the lineup for the Bruins next match on Tuesday night against the Carolina Panthers.
