4 years agoThe Toronto Blue Jays still have interest in free-agent catcher Yadier Molina and have been in contact with him. The expectation is that Molina will return to St. Louis, where he's an icon and has spent his entire career, but nothing is done yet and a couple other teams are still in play. The Cardinals remain the heavy favorites to re-sign the 38-year-old backstop, especially after they brought back Adam Wainwright and traded for third baseman Nolan Arenado. Molina is expected to make a decision once the Caribbean Series is over. The nine-time All-Star hit .262/.303/.359 with four home runs and 16 RBI in the shortened 2020 season and is still serviceable with the lumber, but he's a far superior defender at this point of his career and will only be viable in two-catcher or AL/NL-only leagues in what could be his final season in 2021.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
