Blaine Gabbert Replaces Tom Brady In Second Half
4 years agoTampa Bay Buccaneers backup quarterback Blaine Gabbert replaced Tom Brady under center to begin the second half of Saturday's game against the Lions with the Bucs already up 34-0 going into the second half. Gabbert promptly hit tight end Rob Gronkowski for a touchdown on his first attempt of the game to put Tampa up 40-0 early in the third quarter. Brady was a ridiculous 22-for-27 for 348 yards and four touchdowns in the first half against Detroit's crumbling defense, finding Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Gronkowski and Antonio Brown for scores. Brady's fantasy managers would've liked for him to continue airing it out in the second half, but the Bucs have no reason to risk the future Hall of Famer's health in a game already decided. Brady's performance in the first half alone was likely good enough to help his fantasy managers to a championship this weekend.
