Ben Gamel Takes Seven-Game Hitting Steak Into Tuesday
7 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Ben Gamel will look to extend his hitting streak to eight games when the team opens up a series with the division-leading Astros on Tuesday. Gamel has taken his opportunity for more playing time and run with it, going 19-for-46 (.413) since May 16. He has at least one hit in 13 of his last 15 games and has taken his batting average from .194 up to .279 over that span. Gamel does not hit for power but is giving the team production in left field that has been lacking all season for the Mariners. He currently is not fantasy viable due to his lack of power, but he is certainly playing better the past few weeks.
