Bailey Ober 2024 Player Outlook: Low ERA and Walk Rate Gives Him Late-Round Upside
11 months agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Bailey Ober will enter his fourth year in the Majors looking to build off a solid 2023 season. Ober has put up solid numbers in his first three years with the Twins, including a career year in 2023 across 26 starts. The 6-foot-9 starter had a 3.43 ERA across 144.1 innings pitched to go with just 29 walks and 146 strikeouts last season. Ober did spend some time in the Minor League toward the end of the year, as Minnesota tried to limit his innings pitched. But assuming that doesn't happen again in 2024, he should be a sneaky option later in your fantasy drafts. The 28-year-old gave up three runs or fewer in 22 starts and finished the year with a 1.8 BB/9 and a 9.1 SO/9. Ober will enter the 2024 season with a career 3.63 ERA over 57 starts.
