Austin Cook finished at three-under par this weekend at the Valero Texas Open, tying him for 30th place. Cook opened Thursday with a two-under par 70 and followed that up with a two-over par 74 on Friday. He managed to propel himself up the leaderboard on Saturday with a bogey-free three-under 69 but wasn't able to build on that with an even-par 72 on Sunday. In his four rounds, Cook hit 76.79 percent of fairways (43-for 56), which was third best in the field. While driving accuracy can never be a negative, it does show how Cook looked to use efficiency off the tee rather than distance. When you do that at a course that requires such length, you will have to be dialed in with all other facets of your game to have a realistic chance to win, and unfortunately Cook was rather pedestrian statistically across the board. Cook's T30 is the best finish he has had in his last eight events.--Spencer Aguiar - RotoBallerRead More News
