Anthony Santander Loses Arbitration Case With O's
4 years agoThe Baltimore Orioles won their salary arbitration case over outfielder Anthony Santander on Friday, and he will make $2.1 million in 2021. The Miami Marlins, who have been interested in trading for Santander, could be even more interested now. Santander was asking for a raise from $572,500 to $2.475 million. The 26-year-old hit .261 with 11 home runs and 32 RBI in the shortened 2020 season but had his true breakout back in 2019, slashing .261/.297/.476 with 20 home runs and 59 RBI in 93 games for Baltimore. He's a relatively unknown name playing for the Orioles in a stacked American League East, but Santander has very attractive power and is a nice cheap power bat to target in the later rounds of deep mixed drafts, especially if he remains in Baltimore at hitter-friendly Camden Yards.
