Washington Capitals forward Anthony Mantha will not travel with the club for their upcoming two-game road trip after being hit in the left ear with a shot in Wednesday's overtime loss to the Panthers. He is listed as day-to-day. It's been a disappointing start for both the Capitals and Mantha who has been a rumored trade candidate during his fourth full season with the Capitals. The 29-year-old has three goals and four points across 10 games while seeing his average ice time dip to just 12:43, his lowest total since posting an 11:42 mark in his 10-game NHL debut in the 2015-16 season. The club will likely call up a forward to replace Mantha for upcoming road contests against the Devils and Islanders.--Brenton Kemp
