Andy Dalton Diagnosed With Bone Bruise
3 years agoUpdating previous reports, Chicago Bears quarterback Andy Dalton's (knee) MRI exam confirmed a bone bruise in his knee, according to sources. No official determination has been made about his status for the Week 3 game against the Cleveland Browns. Dalton could miss some time, but the Bears continue to view the veteran as the starter over rookie first-rounder Justin Fields, when healthy. Fields played the entire second half in the Week 2 win over the Cincinnati Bengals but went just 6-for-13 for 60 yards and an interception. Dalton was 9-for-11 for 56 yards and a touchdown before the injury. Fields could be a QB2 streamer in superflex leagues if he starts this weekend against Cleveland, but his season-long appeal should remain tempered with Dalton still technically the starter.
