Aaron Rodgers Not Ready To Come Off Injured Reserve
12 months agoNew York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) acknowledged on the Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday that he's not 100 percent and that he'd be pushing to play if he were 100 percent, but he's just not there yet. Rodgers realistically needs a few more weeks, but the Jets' deadline to activate him from Injured Reserve is on Wednesday. The four-time MVP said himself it's not realistic that he's going to be cleared, so all those people that were holding out hope he'd play for the Jets in the final three weeks of the regular season are going to be disappointed. Even if Rodgers were fully recovered and cleared, it wouldn't make much sense to throw him out there with the Jets mathematically eliminated from playoff contention. If Zach Wilson isn't cleared from the league's concussion protocol this week, Trevor Siemian will likely draw the start for Gang Green in Week 16 against the Washington Commanders on Christmas Eve.
