Aaron Judge Plans To Play Smarter To Avoid Injuries
4 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge said he plans to play smarter in 2021 in order to stay on the field. The right-handed slugger hit nine home runs in 16 games to start last season, but he only played in 28 total games due to a right calf strain, and he's played in 242 of a possible 384 regular season games since the start of the 2018 season because of injuries. "Over the years, you learn to work a little smarter, not harder," Judge said. The 28-year-old has accepted a suggestion to reduce heavy weightlifting in favor of yoga and other exercises intended to strengthen explosive movements. We know that Judge has elite power when he's on the field, but his ADP of 57 as a second fantasy outfielder comes with the baked-in injury risk. If he can somehow play a full season, his fantasy managers will be rewarded handsomely.
