Aaron Hicks Will Look To Continue On Strong 2017
7 years agoDespite playing in just 88 games last year, New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Hicks put forth a career season in 2017. Setting personal bests in home runs (15), RBI (52) and his slash line (.266/.372/.475), he got off to a fabulous start. Prior to the All-Star break, he was hitting .280, also nearly doubling his BB% from 2016. HIs power could be tapped to even more next season considering his home ballpark. Should he be a starter for a full season, he could easily hit 20 home runs and drive in upwards of 70 RBI. Of course, his playing time will be the big question that sets up his season. With the arrival of Giancarlo Stanton, the Yankees have Aaron Judge and Brett Gardner to round out three starting outfielders. Additionally, two separate DL stints last season may draw worries over his ability to remain healthy. Of course, one of the three aforementioned outfielders could take over the DH role, slotting Hicks right back into a starting outfield spot after beating out Jacoby Ellsbury last season. At the end of the day, Hicks will come at a comfortable position in the draft and is absolutely worth a late-round draft pick.
