Mike Davis is a fantasy football lineup bust and potential sit for Week 3. Read recent notes, updates, analysis and advice including predictions for his matchup.
Many fantasy managers were expecting to see a bell-cow workload for Mike Davis this season, given the fact that the team did not add another back to compete with him in the offseason. Well, the workload has been there to start the season, especially in PPR formats where he sits inside the top 10 in targets (13) and receptions (10). But his results have been subpar, to say the least so far as evident by his 11.8 FPPG which ranks him 29th at the position.
Davis has turned in RB32 and RB18 finishes in PPR formats so far this season, and it's troubling to see Cordarrelle Patterson starting to emerge in this backfield. Rather than a target and touches hog, what we're seeing is essentially a 65-35 split, which really limits Davis' upside. The Falcons offense has not been good so far this year, so it's tough to recommend Davis as anything more than a FLEX play, even against a Giants defense that ranks 30th in run DVOA. Davis needs to rack up receptions to stay relevant and Patterson (six targets last week) is eating into that usage.
