Mark Vientos is a fantasy baseball prospect waiver wire pickup heading into Week 8 (2023). Target Vientos as a free agent third baseman on the waiver wire.
BALLER MOVE: Add in 10+ Team Leagues

ANALYSIS: The Mets are struggling, and they're emptying the tank on top-prospect call-ups. Having already called up Bret Baty and Francisco Alvarez, they're now promoting their big-time hitting prospect Mark Vientos. This is a great opportunity for fantasy baseball managers to add a potential impact bat off the waiver wire.
The Mets third base prospect hit his 12th home run of the 2023 Triple-A season in a game for Triple-A Syracuse. Vientos is having a fantastic season, slashing .333/.420/.667 with 24 runs, 33 RBI, and a 12.1% walk rate in 36 games. The Florida native debuted at the major-league level last season, slashing .167/.268/.278 with a home run, three RBI, and three runs.
Vientos should add some offensive firepower to a struggling Mets lineup that is 18th in OPS and 23rd in SLG. His poor defense may limit the right-handed hitter to a platoon role with lefty DH Daniel Vogelbach, but he's still worth stashing in most leagues for his elite power.
Go grab him off the waiver wire if he's available, as he has the upside to be an impact prospect call-up. If he comes out of the gate hot, he can earn a big role and stick around providing fantasy managers with an offensive boost.
