Malik Willis fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 2 (2024). Should you start or sit Malik Willis in your fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Sit (Absolutely Do Not Start)
POSITIONAL VALUE: QB3
ANALYSIS: Green Bay Packers quarterback Malik Willis is terrible. There's really nothing redeeming to his game, other than some rushing ability that's immediately negated by the fact that defenses know he can't throw the ball well or read their defenses and can simply play the run all game.
Willis had had a single game of double-digit fantasy points back in 2022, when he had a decent rushing stat line of seven carries for 43 yards and a touchdown. That happened to be in a game where he was also 14 of 23 for 99 yards and two interceptions. He also has a fumbling habit. Protecting the football isn't his biggest priority.

Unless LaFleur coached Willis up from the Hadean depths his play was in last season, he would've had to make huge strides to become fantasy-relevant. Even in Superflex leagues, there are probably better players to start in your Superflex spot, and Willis belongs on the bench there, too.
I can't recommend starting Willis in any leagues. There is the possibility that LaFleur's system is good enough for him to succeed, but the risk is high starting him at all. If Love misses more than one game and Willis has a decent performance in Week 2 it might be worth it to start him in Week 3, but it's unlikely.
