Juwan Johnson fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 2 (2024). Should you start or sit Juwan Johnson for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Start in 14+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: TE15
ANALYSIS: Juwan Johnson emerged as the New Orleans Saints' primary receiving tight end in 2022 when he caught 42 passes for 508 yards and seven touchdowns. Last season, his production decreased.
In Week 1, Johnson was only the fourth-leading Saints' receiving target. He had just three passes thrown his way and caught two of them for 26 yards. Were it not for a second-quarter touchdown grab, Johnson would have been a fantasy football bust.
The Saints romped all over the dismal Carolina Panthers, routing them 47-10. The Panthers allowed the fourth-most points per game last season. The Saints' opponents in Week 2 will not be so easy to score on; the Dallas Cowboys were the ninth-best scoring defense last year.
The Saints have a crowded tight end room. Foster Moreau caught twice as many passes as Johnson, and Taysom Hill does just about everything. With so much target competition, Johnson is a less-than-ideal starting option against a tough opponent.
