Josh Downs fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 5 (2024). Should you start or sit Josh Downs for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Start in 12+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR3 or Flex
ANALYSIS: Josh Downs is a potential starter in deep leagues in Week 5
After starting the year on the sidelines due to injury, Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Josh Downs has returned to the field. Downs shook off the rust in Week 3 against the Bears, and he had his best game of the season last week against the Steelers, recording eight catches for 82 yards and a touchdown in the Colts' victory.
One reason for Downs' success could be that starting quarterback Anthony Richardson exited the game early, leading to backup QB Joe Flacco taking over. Flacco's accuracy and experience allowed him to spread the ball effectively, and the Colts' playmakers all benefited.
It remains uncertain which quarterback will start for the Colts in their Week 5 matchup against the Jaguars.
Downs deserves consideration for the starting lineup this week. He displayed impressive route running and consistently created separation against favorable matchups. As the team's primary slot receiver, he stands to benefit from the Jaguars' struggles in containing opposing slots. If Flacco is the starter, Downs could be a solid WR3 or Flex option; if Richardson plays, he may be a riskier Flex choice.
The first game of the 2026 season will repeat last season's Super Bowl, with the Seattle Seahawks once again facing the New England Patriots. Each team has quarterbacks and receivers that will be fantasy-relevant this season. Sam Darnold and Rashid Shaheed, who are the starting quarterback and wide receiver for the Seahawks, and first-year New England Patriots […]
The New England Patriots will take on the Seattle Seahawks on Wednesday Night Football to kick off the 2026 NFL season. The Super Bowl rematch has serious fantasy implications, as do most games. New England running back Rhamondre Stevenson, Seattle Seahawks RB Jadarian Price, and Patriots TE Hunter Henry are three players potentially worth considering […]
BALLER MOVE: Start in 10+ team leagues POSITIONAL VALUE: High-end WR3/FLEX ANALYSIS: After 12 spectacular seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, veteran wide receiver Mike Evans found a new home with the San Francisco 49ers this past offseason. Evans inked a three-year, $42.4 million contract that will presumably keep him atop the Niners' depth chart […]
BALLER MOVE: Start in 10+ team leagues POSITIONAL VALUE: High-end WR3 ANALYSIS: The Buffalo Bills made a splash this past offseason, acquiring veteran wide receiver DJ Moore from the Chicago Bears. Moore had been a top-24 fantasy receiver for all six years from 2019 through 2024, but he dropped to WR35 last year. After the […]
BALLER MOVE: Start in all leagues POSITIONAL VALUE: Mid-end RB2 ANALYSIS: The New England Patriots' running back room has been heavily analyzed all summer long. TreVeyon Henderson's youth and explosiveness have consistently caught drafters' attention more often than Rhamondre Stevenson’s safer floor and secured volume. The two saw a similar workload last season until Stevenson […]
