Shortly before kickoff, star running back Christian McCaffrey (calf/Achilles) was ruled out which bumped Mason up the depth chart. Earlier, this week, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported that McCaffrey is a "long shot" to suit up in Week 2 which could open the door for another monster game for Mason.

Mason looked very comfortable with a heavy workload on Monday as he posted a strong 28.6% broken tackle percentage and averaged 3 yards after contact.
Given how efficient this 49ers offense is, fantasy managers should feel confident putting Mason in their lineup if he gets the start once again. However, if McCaffrey happens to play this weekend, Mason should be viewed as a low-end flex play in deeper leagues especially if McCaffrey takes on his typical workload.
