Jaxon Smith-Njigba fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 3 (2024). Should you start or sit Jaxon Smith-Njigba for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Start
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR2/WR3
ANALYSIS: Seattle Seahawks 2nd-year wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba finally had his long-awaited breakout game, racking up 23.70 PPR fantasy points. Smith-Njigba was targeted a ridiculous 16 times, hauling in 12 of those passes for 117 yards.
Some very promising signs on #Seahawks WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba:
1. Has run 69 routes on 76 Geno dropbacks this season. That's more than Tyler Lockett (62).
2. Still getting a lot of short-area targets, but now mixing in deeper routes. Average depth of target yesterday was 10.6… pic.twitter.com/45PT8IlzFM

Smith-Njigba's talent has been undeniable since joining the league, but he was held back by former Seahawks offensive coordinator Shane Waldron and used on many plays that didn't utilize his strength. New OC Ryan Grubb has made a point of getting him more involved and playing to his strengths.
It looks like he's finally taking over the WR2 spot from fellow WR Tyler Lockett, which should've happened last year. Lockett is an excellent receiver but is 31 years old and on the tail end of his career.
Smith-Njigba is unlikely to have many 12-catch games this year, but his usage is incredibly encouraging, and it's likely he'll be much more involved in the offensive plans for the Seahawks this year. He's a WR2/WR3 moving forward.
