ANALYSIS: The Washington Nationals officially called up their top prospect, James Wood, on July 1. After tearing it up at Triple-A this season -- batting an absurd .353 with 10 home runs, 16 doubles, 37 RBI, and 10 stolen bases -- Wood deserved his chance in the big leagues.
The left-handed slugger has also not disappointed in his first five career games. Wood has a hit in four of his first five major league games, including a 2-for-3 performance with one RBI and one walk on July 3. It has also been impressive to see the 21-year-old take his walks when needed. He has drawn four walks through five games so far.

It has been great to see Wood already making an impact in the majors. While he hasn't totaled any extra-base hits, he has been getting on base. As a result, fantasy managers should be running to the waivers and adding him immediately. He has the tools and potential to be a solid fantasy option in Year 1.
