New York Giants rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers is off to a blistering start to 2024. Through Weeks 1-3, Nabers had the most PPR fantasy points of any wide receiver in the league. Nabers has been almost the entire Giants' offense, and he's looked stellar while doing it. The Giants drafted a superstar.
Nabers was targeted 37 times in the first three games, which is an absurd pace. The 12+ targets a game for a player makes them a must-start in all formats, and Leek has earned every bit of his volume. He's been the engine behind the Giants' offense and is probably the only reason the Giants have won a game in 2024.

Unfortunately, Nabers was forced to exit the Giants game against the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night. Nabers had already caught 12 passes for 115 yards and scored 23.10 PPR fantasy points when he went down. Is Malik Nabers now hurt or healthy? Let's dive in.
Malik Nabers Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Nabers suffered a concussion while attempting to catch a pass and falling forward, doing his best to keep his feet in bounds. Leek has his facemask on the turf hard and appeared to be knocked unconscious briefly. Trainers surrounded him for a time and he was eventually helped off the field.

Though it wasn't reported in the national media, this was probably Nabers' second concussion of the game. Leek made a catch on a short route earlier in the game and fell awkwardly on his side, slamming his head into the turf and not getting up for a period of time before being helped up. He didn't leave the game after this.

This isn't good news for Leek early in his career. He will need to work on falling differently to avoid hitting his head on the turf with so much force. There are techniques that he can learn to achieve this, of course, but they may be tough to implement. Football is an incredibly fast game.
Malik Nabers Fantasy Football Outlook
Nabers is one of the best fantasy receivers in the game. You simply cannot bench a player that gets this much volume. Nabers has been electric, scoring 20+ PPR points in his last three games. He is looking like a league-winner. It doesn't matter who the Giants play, you have to start him.
Of course, fantasy managers will want to monitor his status. Given the negative backlash teams and the NFL in general have faced over handling of concussions in recent years (see the Tua Tagovailoa situation from 2022) it's unlikely the Giants will rush Leek back into play.
Expect him to be a full go when he returns, and lock him into your starting lineups in all leagues, regardless of size and format. He could finish the year ranked in PPR fantasy scoring as the same number you see on his jersey. He's earned every bit of the blessing of Ray Flaherty's family to wear that number.
