New York Giants rookie tight end Daniel Bellinger caught 16 of his 18 targets for 152 yards and two touchdowns through the first six games of his career, but after suffering an injury in the win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, his status is unclear moving forward.
Bellinger became an interesting waiver add, especially in dynasty leagues, so the former San Diego State tight end's status is worth monitoring.
Will Bellinger miss a significant period of time, and what is the fantasy football fallout if he can't play?

Is Daniel Bellinger Healthy or Injured?
Bellinger will have surgery this week on his fractured eye socket, according to head coach Brian Daboll. Bellinger will be out indefinitely, and it's unclear if he'll play again this year. Bellinger can probably be dropped in single-year fantasy leagues, but he needs to remain stashed in dynasty/keeper leagues, even if he doesn't play again in 2022.
It was an unfortunate freaky injury, but fantasy managers will have to look elsewhere for sneaky tight end upside.
Daniel Bellinger Injury Fantasy Football Fallout
With Bellinger out for the foreseeable future, Chris Myarick and Tanner Hudson will be in line for more playing time at the tight end position in New York. However, even Bellinger wasn't a must-start stud or target magnet, so neither seems worth picking up except in ultra-deep tight end premium leagues.
It's more likely that the vacated targets will go to running back Saquon Barkley and wideouts Wan'Dale Robinson, Darius Slayton, and Kadarius Toney (when he returns from hamstring injury). Kenny Golladay (knee) could also be in play when he comes back.
For now, Bellinger's injury doesn't affect fantasy football as a whole significantly. The outlooks of Barkley, Robinson, Slayton, Toney, Golladay, and all other Giants pass-catchers remain about the same as before the Bellinger potential season-ending injury. It's worth noting Robinson is a top player to target on waiver wires ahead of Week 8.
