MLB Pitcher Prop Bets - Today's Betting Picks
Elieser Hernandez OVER 4.5 strikeouts (-165 DraftKings Sportsbook)
This is actually a pretty solid number on Hernandez as I have seen it at 5.5 in some spots. Hernandez has struck out at least five in four of his five starts to begin 2022 and is posting a 9.1 K/9 for his career. He has a solid matchup today against the Diamondbacks who are striking out at a rate of 24.7% vs. right-handers over the previous two weeks, which ranks sixth-worst in baseball.
Frankie Montas OVER 6.5 strikeouts (Odds coming soon)
This has not been officially posted, but it is likely that Montas will drop at 6.5 as he has been listed as such on some prop sites earlier this morning. Everyone has been striking out the Rays this season and they are currently posting a K rate of 24.6% vs. right-handers over the previous two weeks, which ranks seventh-worst in baseball over that span. While Montas did strike out six Rays in a start on April 13th, he has typically been better at home as he posted a 10.30 K/9 at home just a season ago. Hopefully, that home bump should get him over the total in this one.
MLB Hitter Prop Bets - Today's Betting Picks
Aaron Judge OVER 0.5 home runs (+400 DraftKings Sportsbook)
Let's take a shot on Judge to go deep tonight. Yusei Kikuchi is on the mound for Toronto who allowed a ridiculous 21 bombs to right-handers in 2021 and has given up one so far in 2022. Judge has been absolutely raking against lefties to begin this season as he is posting a 1.221 OPS with four dingers thus far. He has also posted a 1.253 OPS against Kikuchi for his career.
Cedric Mullins OVER 1.5 total bases (+110 DraftKings and Caesars Sportsbook)
Mullins will be facing Dylan Bundy who has been known to struggle a bit against left-handed hitters. In 2021, Bundy posted a 6/70 FIP while allowing 30 hits and seven home runs to left-handed bats across 24 1/3 innings pitched against them. Mullins will be leading off in this one and should get plenty of opportunities to post over 1.5 total bases. Although he has just seven extra-base hits to begin 2022, this is a guy that hit 35 doubles and 29 bombs a season ago, of which 23 of the doubles and 20 of the home runs came against right-handed pitching.
