MLB Pitcher Prop Bets - Today's Betting Picks
Spenser Watkins OVER 2.5 strikeouts (-140 DraftKings Sportsbook)
We have a very low number on a guy that does not strike a ton of batters out but does have a terrific matchup. Watkins will be facing the Rays who have posted the fourth-highest K rate against right-handers over the previous two weeks with a rate of 25.5%. Watkins is not known as a strikeout pitcher as he has just 14 across 30 IPs this season, but he has gone over this prop total in three of his previous five starts.
Merrill Kelly OVER 4.5 strikeouts (-160 DraftKings Sportsbook)
Kelly will be facing the Cubs today who are posting a 29.8% K rate against right-handed pitching over the previous two weeks, which ranks dead last in baseball over that span. Kelly has done well when facing teams in the higher echelon of K rates and has gone over this total in four starts this season.
MLB Hitter Prop Bets - Today's Betting Picks
Randy Arozarena OVER 1.5 total bases (+100 DraftKings Sportsbook)
Arozarena has been hot lately as he has collected 11 hits over his previous seven games and has six hits over the first two games in this series against Baltimore. While I do think Watkins gets over his 2.5 strikeout prop, he may run into some trouble against right-handed hitters in this one. He has allowed five bombs and an 8.07 FIP to righties on the season, so we will continue to attack him from that side of the plate.
Jeremy Pena OVER 1.5 total bases (+135 DraftKings Sportsbook)
Pena will be facing left-hander Taylor Hearn today and that could mean great things for Pena. On the season, Pena has posted a .869 OPS against lefties in 2022. He also has been scorching hot as he has hits in 13 of his previous 14 games. Hearn has struggled against right-handed bats this season as he has allowed a 5.26 FIP and an absurd 2.16 WHIP.
