ANALYSIS: The Las Vegas Raiders announced on Thursday that they had put both TE Darren Waller and WR2 Hunter Renfrow on the Injured Reserve. That means that both players will be forced to remain out of the gameday roster for at least four weeks. The Raiders have already gone through their bye week, so that means no Waller or Renfrow will grace a football gridiron for the next month.
That also means that TE2 Foster Moreau enters the TE1 picture instantly with Waller out of contention. It already showed this past Sunday with Moreau finishing the week (pending MNF) as the TE6 with 13.3 PPR points to the tune of a 3-reception, 43-yard, one-touchdown performance.
Nothing really changed on Moreau's usage front in terms of snaps played and targets, as he retained the role he had shown in prior weeks with Waller out. Moreau has appeared in five games to Waller's four, and both have shared the field just twice in W2 and W3. Moreau was good for 6.0 and 5.8 PPR points in those two games, quite a disgrace but still (somehow) top-24 marks among TEs both times.
The fact that Waller is guaranteed to stay out of the field for three more games at the very least only locks Moreau into his role even more and with WR Hunter Renfrow also hitting IR things look even better for the tight end as there aren't many better weapons available for QB Derek Carr on the Raiders offense.
