Fantasy Football Injury Reports For QBs: Jalen Hurts, Lamar Jackson, Ryan Tannehill, Russell Wilson, Kenny Pickett, Mike White

Jalen Hurts - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Fantasy football injury updates and injury reports for quarterbacks Week 16 (2022) as of 12/21, including Jalen Hurts, Lamar Jackson, Ryan Tannehill, Russell Wilson, Kenny Pickett, and Mike White.

Superflex leagues have become popular in fantasy football, so any starting quarterback is on the fantasy radar. Even low-end QB2 become must-starts in those formats, and there are a ton of banged-up signal-callers heading into Week 16. Our fantasy football injury reports for quarterbacks as of Wednesday, December 21st will give you the latest scoop on banged-up signal-callers Jalen Hurts, Lamar Jackson, Ryan Tannehill, Russell Wilson, Kenny Pickett, Mike White, and more.

Being up-to-date on NFL injury news can give you an edge over your league mates in fantasy football. Quarterbacks are always important, especially in superflex or two-quarterback leagues, so keeping up to date with the latest QB injury news is key to staying competitive.

Jalen Hurts Injury Update

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (shoulder) was listed as a DNP on Tuesday's estimated practice report. Backup Gardner Minshew was also a DNP due to a personal issue. Hurts sprained his right shoulder in the Week 15 win over the Chicago Bears and his status is up in the air to face the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday in Week 16. The Eagles are saying he has a chance to play, but the MVP candidate is very iffy for fantasy managers this week and possibly in Week 17 as well.

We'll have a better idea of his Week 16 status after two more practice days, but fantasy managers need to have an alternate plan at QB this week. If Hurts is unable to play against Dallas, Minshew would get the start and be in play in two-QB superflex leagues.

Lamar Jackson Injury Update

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson (knee) was not seen at the portion of practice open to the media on Tuesday. It's his seventh straight missed practice after he sprained his left knee in Week 13. It was reported last weekend that Baltimore was hoping that the 25-year-old dual-threat QB could return in Week 16 to face the Atlanta Falcons on Saturday, but the team is going to hold Jackson's status very close to their vest this week for competitive reasons.

He'll have to get back on the field this week in order to have a shot at playing. If not, Tyler Huntley would make his third straight start.

Ryan Tannehill Injury Update

Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill (ankle) suffered an injury during Sunday's loss to the Chargers. The team expressed concern after the game, with reports their starting signal-caller could miss the contest against Houston this week. Opening the week with a DNP on Tuesday is a bad sign for the 34-year-old.

It's still possible he practices on Wednesday or Thursday, but because they play on Saturday, there is less time for him to get healthy. If he misses, they'll turn to Malik Willis, who coincidentally made his debut against the Texans in Week 8. He only attempted 10 passes in that game, compared to 45 team rushing attempts, which would likely be the game plan again.

Russell Wilson Injury Update

Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson (head) will start against the Los Angeles Rams on Christmas Day. Wilson missed last week as he was in concussion protocol, but he'll give it a go against the struggling defending Super Bowl Champions.

Wilson has low upside in a matchup between two bottom-of-the-barrel offenses, but hopefully, he will have Courtland Sutton (hamstring) back at wide receiver and can put on a decent performance for fantasy managers who are forced to start him.

Mike White Injury Update

The New York Jets officially ruled quarterback Mike White (ribs) out for Thursday night's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars to kick off Week 16 action. As a result, Zach Wilson will make his second straight start with the team's playoff hopes firmly on the line. In his first start since Week 11, Wilson went 18-for-35 for 317 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in the loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 15.

There were some things that he could have done better, but all in all, it was one of the second-year signal-caller's best performances of his young career. He'll have a chance to gain more momentum in a good matchup against the Jaguars defense this week, but fantasy managers should consider him an option only in two-QB leagues. If Wilson looks good again in Week 16, the Jets could have a tough decision to make once White is healed from his rib injuries.

Kenny Pickett Injury Update

Pittsburgh Steelers rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett (head) had cleared the league's concussion protocol and is in line to start in Week 16 against the Las Vegas Raiders on Christmas Eve on Saturday. Pickett missed the Week 15 win over the Carolina Panthers after suffering his second concussion of the year the previous week. But apparently he's cleared the protocols and will start this weekend, barring a setback at practice this week. The 24-year-old's return should be good news for tight end Pat Freiermuth, who didn't see a single target on Sunday, but it could be bad news for receiver Diontae Johnson, who had his best game of the year in Week 15 with Mitch Trubisky under center.

Pickett, as expected, has been up and down in his rookie year, throwing for 1,797 yards, four touchdowns and eight picks in 10 games. He'll have some decent QB2 upside in a nice matchup against the Raiders on Saturday night. UPDATE: Pickett would have practiced in full on Tuesday if the Steelers had actually practiced, a clear indication that he's in line to start Saturday evening.

Colt McCoy Injury Update

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Colt McCoy (head) is in concussion protocol and his status is very much up in the air for Week 16.

If he's out against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 16, Trace McSorely will get the start. It's never a good idea to speculate on a concussion, so stay tuned for further updates.
