Below is our fantasy football injuries report for running backs in Week 16, as of December 21. The injury statuses for various NFL running backs are up in the air for Week 16, including Alvin Kamara, Kenneth Walker III, Zach Charbonnet, Bucky Irving, and Tony Pollard.

As the fantasy football season continues, every decision, transaction, and lineup change matters. These are critical running back injuries to keep track of throughout the week. Being up-to-date on NFL injury news can give you an edge over your league mates in fantasy football.

Let's look at the updates for some running backs and see whether they may play in Week 16.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Alvin Kamara Injury Update

Kamara (groin) missed practice on Thursday and Friday. The Saints' final injury report won't be issued until Saturday evening, but the expectation is that Kamara will be ruled out or listed as doubtful. In fact, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the veteran running back could be shut down for the remainder of the season. Kendre Miller will step into the lead-back role for now.

Kenneth Walker III Injury Update

Walker (calf) progressed from a non-participant Wednesday to a full participant Friday. He has been cleared to play against the Vikings in Week 16, but Zach Charbonnet's recent emergence could prompt the Seahawks to deploy a split backfield or even adopt a running back-by-committee approach this Sunday. Walker ranks outside of the top 12 fantasy running backs.

Zach Charbonnet Injury Update

Charbonnet (oblique) progressed from a non-participant Wednesday to a full participant Friday. He has filled in admirably for Kenneth Walker III and could continue to handle double-digit touches even with Walker cleared to return against the Vikings in Week 16. Charbonnet has FLEX appeal once again.

Bucky Irving Injury Update

Irving (back, hip) logged a full practice on Friday and has been removed from the final injury report. Both Irving and Rachaad White rank as high-end RB2 options against a struggling Cowboys run defense.

Tony Pollard Injury Update

Pollard (ankle) didn't practice at all this week, but the Titans have left the door open for him to play with a "questionable" designation. If Pollard ends up sitting out Sunday's contest, Tyjae Spears will step up as the Titans' primary running back, ranking as a high-end RB3 against Indianapolis.

Joe Mixon Injury Update

Mixon (rest) was limited in practice all week. He has been removed from the final injury report and will play on Saturday against the Chiefs, ranking as a mid-range RB1.

Tyrone Tracy Jr. Injury Update

Tracy (ankle) is listed as questionable after being limited in practice all week long. The Giants' rookie saw his four-game streak of scoring double-digit fantasy points come to an end last week, and now, he could be headed for the first absence of his career. If Tracy can't play against the Falcons, Devin Singletary would operate as the Giants' primary running back, making him a mid-range RB3 in fantasy football.

Isaac Guerendo Injury Update

Guerendo (foot, hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 16 after missing three consecutive practices. Patrick Taylor Jr. is slated to lead the 49ers' backfield on Sunday, ranking as a high-end RB3/FLEX play against the Dolphins.

Roschon Johnson Injury Update

Johnson (concussion) cleared concussion protocol this week. He logged three full practices in a row and should operate as the direct backup to D'Andre Swift on Sunday. For fantasy purposes, he ranks as a mid-to-low RB4.

Braelon Allen Injury Update

Allen (back) is listed as questionable to face the Rams despite practicing in full on Friday. He is the Jets' preferred backup option behind Breece Hall and won't have much fantasy appeal as long as Hall is healthy.

Isaiah Davis Injury Update

Davis (back) has been cleared to play in Week 16 after logging a full practice on Friday. Neither he nor Allen have much fantasy appeal as long as Hall is capable of fulfilling his duties as the Jets' No. 1 running back.

Trey Benson Injury Update

Benson (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 16 against the Panthers, leaving DeeJay Dallas (illness) in line to back up James Conner. However, Dallas is listed as questionable, and if he were to also miss Sunday's game, the Cardinals would likely elevate Michael Carter and Tony Jones Jr. to spell Conner.

DeeJay Dallas Injury Update

Dallas (illness) was added to the injury report after missing Friday's practice entirely. Whether he's able to recover from his illness before kickoff will dictate Dallas' availability for Week 16 against the Panthers. If he can't suit up, the Cardinals would likely elevate Michael Carter and Tony Jones Jr. to spell Conner.

Travis Homer Injury Update

Homer (hamstring) was a late addition to the injury report after logging a limited practice on Friday. He's listed as doubtful to play in Week 16, leaving Darrynton Evans line to be elevated as the Bears' No. 3 running back behind Swift and Johnson.

JaMycal Hasty Injury Update

Hasty (ankle) has been ruled out after missing all three practices this past week. New England will likely elevate Terrell Jennings to serve as their No. 3 running back behind Rhamondre Stevenson and Antonio Gibson.
