Last week was a banner week for prospect promotions. Not only did consensus Top-20 prospect Colt Emerson get the call, but we also saw Jonah Tong recalled by the Mets, and a pair of intriguing promotions for the Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Pirates.

So, with all these prospect promotions recently, who should we be stashing in redraft leagues now?

Fantasy Baseball Prospect Rankings Analysis

Jacob Gonzalez, Chicago White Sox

The White Sox have slowly been bringing up their young players over the last year or two, and Jacob Gonzalez is likely the next one to get the call. The 2023 first-round pick has enjoyed a resurgent season in 2026, especially in the month of May, where he's slashing .309/.417/.642 with six doubles and seven home runs in 20 games. For the season, Gonzalez is slashing .299/.409/.603 with nine doubles, 15 home runs, and seven steals in 48 games.

In Triple-A, Gonzalez has been showcasing a solid blend of contact, approach, and power. He currently sports an above-average 89.8 mph AVG EV, 42.6% hard-hit rate, and an 11.8% barrel rate with a 83.1 % zone contact rate, 77.2% overall contact rate, and a 14.4% strikeout rate while only striking out in 20.3% of his plate appearances. But despite the production and metrics, Gonzalez doesn't have a clear path to playing time with the White Sox at the moment.

River Ryan, Los Angeles Dodgers

While I'm surprised it didn't happen last week, I still strongly believe that the call-up for River Ryan is going to come very soon. After missing a month of action, Ryan has combined for nine innings of one-run ball with one walk and 11 strikeouts in his two starts since returning to the Triple-A Oklahoma City rotation. In his most recent outing last Thursday, Ryan tossed five shutout innings, allowing just two hits and striking out seven.

As of now, Ryan remains on the outside looking in when it comes to joining the Dodgers' rotation. Even with Tyler Glasnow and Blake Snell currently on the injured list, the Dodgers acquired Eric Lauer to provide some rotation depth. With that said, Lauer has mostly struggled this season, so a swap from him to Ryan in the coming weeks wouldn't surprise me if Lauer doesn't pitch well in his next outing or two.

Kade Anderson, Seattle Mariners

After going third overall in the 2025 draft, Kade Anderson has quickly ascended to the top of pitching prospect rankings with how he's performed this season. In eight outings for Double-A Arkansas, Anderson has posted a stellar 1.63 ERA, 0.80 WHIP, a 4.9% walk rate, and a 40.8% strikeout rate. Anderson has allowed seven earned runs all season, and five of those came in one outing. To put it simply, nobody has been able to touch Anderson this season.

Anderson is going to be a hot commodity in redraft leagues once he's up, and the long-term upside is a borderline ace thanks to three above-average or better offerings and plus command and control. But when will we see Anderson with Seattle? The Mariners' rotation is currently full, and they recently added Bryce Miller back into the mix. But if there's an injury in the next month or two, Anderson could realistically get the call to fill the open spot.

Gage Jump, Athletics

After a tough start to the season, Gage Jump has righted the ship of late. Jump hasn't allowed a run in his last two starts (11 innings combined) and is coming off his best outing of the season last Wednesday. In seven shutout innings against Albuquerque, Jump allowed just four hits with zero walks and nine strikeouts.

Jump jumped up prospect rankings last season with a 3.28 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, 7.4% walk rate, and a 28.4% strikeout rate in 112.2 innings between High-A and Double-A. Jump sits in the 96-97 range with his 4-seamer and can touch higher, while missing plenty of bats with his curveball and slider, both of which are above-average or better offerings. Those three pitches dominated Albuquerque last week, combining for 13 of Jump's 14 strikeouts.

If Jump continues to pitch well in Triple-A, I'd expect to see him up with the Athletics before the All-Star break. The Athletics don't exactly have the best rotation, and Jacob Lopez is currently posting a 5.73 ERA. That final jump to the majors for Jump is drawing near.

Injury Updates

We've had several notable injury updates for prospects over the last week or so. Some positive, some not so much.

Emmanuel Rodriguez (MIN): Rodriguez suffered a torn UCL in his thumb earlier in the month, and the severity of the injury was uncovered last week after swelling had subsided. This injury will require surgery, and most timetables I've seen have Rodriguez's recovery time at around three months. That would put us around late-August or early-September, which means the chances of Rodriguez debuting and making a fantasy impact in 2026 are slim to none.

Thomas White (MIA): There was plenty of speculation that White was getting called up to Miami when he was a late scratch from his start last week, but that unfortunately was not the case. White was placed on the IL with a minor shoulder issue, but it doesn't sound like he'll be out for long. And when he does return, I'm not entirely sure his major league debut will come right away. The upside is massive, but White has yet to reach five innings in any of his seven starts this season.

Aidan Miller (PHI): A back injury has caused Miller to miss the entire season so far, but the Phillies top prospect has recently begun baseball activities and appears to be trending in a positive direction. There's no concrete timetable for Miller's return, but it sounds like he could still debut and make an impact for the Phillies in the second half of the season.

Robby Snelling (MIA): I know he wasn't a candidate for this article after his recent major league promotion, but it's a real bummer that Robby Snelling needs Tommy John surgery. Snelling rose to elite ranks over the last two seasons, and now we won't see him back in action until the second half of the 2027 season at the earliest.
