FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (5/1/18): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

There was a large slate last night, and we are gifted with another huge Tuesday slate. There are a plethora of different ways to go about with lineup construction tonight.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel on 5/1/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

You can also read more DFS lineup picks for DraftKings and other sports too. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me up on Twitter @BalesSJustin.

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Chris Sale - P, vs KC ($11,300)

Sale hasn't necessarily been the most dominant pitcher in the MLB this season, but he features a 2-1 record, 2.31 ERA, and 0.97 WHIP through six starts. He features an 11.6 K/9 over that span, as well. Sale also gets an elite matchup against the Kansas City Royals, who are arguably the worst offense in the MLB this season. He's currently a -290 favorite in a game set at only 8 runs, and Sale can be used in all leagues tonight.

Michael Wacha - P, vs CWS ($7,000)

Wacha has quietly been playing at a high level at home this season, recording a 3-0 record, 2.04 ERA, and 1.25 WHIP in three home starts. He has recorded an 8.2 K/9 in those games, while averaging 38.3 fantasy points per game. He gets a great matchup against the Chicago White Sox, who rank second on the slate in strikeouts per at-bat, and he's a -220 favorite in a game set at 9 runs. Wacha certainly comes with a small amount of risk, but he can be used in all leagues for his current price tag.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

C.J. Cron - C/1B, at DET ($3,600)

Cron is a player that I love targeting when he plays left-handed pitchers. This season, he's hitting .424 with a 28.6% extra-base hit rate against lefties. He is also averaging one home run every 11 at-bats against left-handed pitching. He gets an elite matchup against Matthew Boyd, who has allowed one home run in three of his four starts this season. Cron can safely be used in all leagues in this matchup.

Matt Carpenter - 2B, vs CWS ($3,100)

Carpenter has looked awful early this season, but he does with quite a bit of upside. He gets a good matchup against James Shields, who should not be pitching in the MLB at this point in his career. Carpenter features 0.077 wOBA and 0.138 ISO differentials against right-handed pitching. He's a player that should only be considered in GPPs.

Travis Shaw - 3B, at CIN ($3,800)

Shaw is a powerful player that will be playing in a hitter friendly stadium tonight. He gets a good matchup against Homer Bailey, and 76.9% of Shaw's career home runs (100% in 2018) have come against right-handed pitching. Shaw hasn't been playing well enough to be used in cash games, but he come with tremendous upside, and can be used in tournaments tonight.

Orlando Arcia - SS, at CIN ($2,300)

Arcia is another Brewers player that comes with better splits against right-handed pitching. Throughout his career, 81.8% of Arcia's extra-base hits have come against righties. He will also see a small boost in potential power because of the stadium. Arcia is another solid tournament option on this slate.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Teoscar Hernandez - OF, at MIN ($4,100)

Hernandez has been playing at an elite level through 14 games, hitting for a .316 average, .702 slugging percentage, and 1.092 OPS. He has recorded 12 extra-base hits, 11 RBIs, and one steal through 14 games, as well. Overall, Hernandez has scored between 12 and 48 fantasy points in 57.1% of his games this season. He's an elite option in all leagues.

Eddie Rosario - OF, vs TOR ($3,000)

Rosario has struggled at times this season, but he has looked outstanding at home. Through 11 home starts, Rosario is hitting .286 with a .548 slugging percentage and an .850 OPS. He gets a great matchup against Marco Estrada, and Rosario features 0.102 wOBA and 0.156 ISO differentials against right-handed pitching. He can be considered in all leagues tonight.
