Week 8 college football DFS lineups, sleepers and value picks for the early slate on FanDuel and DraftKings on October 10th. Target these NCAA players in CFB daily fantasy tournaments and cash games.
We're working with another two-game slate here, but these of these games are going to be exciting. The bout between ULL and Arkansas State is approaching a 70 total, so it should be a fun game to watch. UCLA and Stanford both have bad defenses as well and some fireworks there wouldn't surprise me either.
Let's dive in and find a couple of top plays at each position!
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for the early slate of games on FanDuel and DraftKings on 10/4/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

FanDuel, DraftKings DFS Quarterbacks
Layne Hatcher - Arkansas State - FD $9,700 DK $6,800
We’re looking at a total close to 70 in this game, so it’ll be our main target. We’ll sprinkle in some Bruins and Cardinals, but the majority of your lineup should come from this game. It’s not a meaningful game to us, but these teams are tied in the group B standings and this is a very important game to every player on that field. Layne Hatcher and Arkansas State are underdogs, but have been lethal through the air this year and Louisiana-Lafayette won’t slow them down. Not with their defense at least. They will run the ball into the ground, but the total is telling us we will get plenty out of these guys. With an implied total of 31 for Arkansas State, Hatcher is easily my QB1.
Levi Lewis - Louisiana-Lafayette - FD $8,100 DK $5,900
ULL is a run-first offense, but Levi Lewis will still throw the ball 20 times and run it another five or six. He’s cheap on both sites and I don’t hate him in your super-flex spot. The game is going to be high-scoring and Lewis could easily combine for two or three touchdowns. You can pivot to Davis Mills as well, but he’s currently questionable and we’re waiting to hear whether he will even play or not. If he is ruled out, Jack West will get the start and is an interesting pivot.
Davis Mills is questionable. If he plays, he's a solid cash game play vs UCLA. If he’s out, Jack West in a great punt.
FanDuel, DraftKings DFS Running Backs
Cameron Scarlett - Stanford - FD $9,200 DK $6,000
Twyford is listed as a wide receiver on DraftKings, but he’s been the starting running back since Texas State played SMU. He’s still running routes, though, so the upside is huge. He’s gotten 17+ carries in two-plus games and has 15 fantasy points in four straight games. This game between Texas State and Lousiana-Monroe is going to be the higher-scoring affair of the two and Twyford is the number one weapon on this Texas State team. He’s going to touch the ball at least 20 times and you won’t find a lineup of mine without them.
Elijah Mitchell - Louisiana-Lafayette - FD $9,400 DK $5,700
With Ricky Person out, it’s going to be Jordan Houston and Zonovan Knight to get carries for the NC State Wolfpack. Knight has already had a lot of opportunities to impress and hasn’t. Houston on the other hand, ran for six yards per carry last game and showed a ton of upside. He’s my pick as I think he can get to 75 yards and a score on 15 touches. N.C. State is a four-point favorite in this game as well, and starting their backup QB, so they’ll want to keep it pounding on the ground as long as possible Houston is my favorite of the two and I won’t have any exposure to Knight, who’s a much worse overall runner.

FanDuel, DraftKings DFS Wide Receivers
Omar Bayless - Arkansas State - FD $10,400 DK $7,500
Omar Bayless has been one of the best receivers in the nation, reeling in 44 balls for 843 yards and 10 touchdowns through six games. Yes, 10 touchdowns in six games. Bayless is a 6-foot-3 handsy monster that is just a far better WR than these CB’s are used to. He has the talent to play on an SEC roster, but never got the recognition coming out of high school. The Arkansas State Red Wolves are six-point underdogs in this one, implying they’ll be throwing, but still putting up 30+ points. It’s an ideal situation for Bayless, who is my top play on the entire slate with all things considered.
Demetric Felton - UCLA - FD $9,600 DK $7,200
Felton is going to be a GPP play, but he’s a damn good one at that. Stanford has a reputation of being a good defense, but they’ve been one of the worst pass defenses in the entire nation. They allowed average Oregon State QB Jake Luton to throw for 337 yards, so this UCLA offense could easily get close to 300. Felton is going to see 15 touches no matter what happens, as Chip Kelly has found his do-it-all man. He’ll see 8-10 carries and Burton targets him on what seems like 75% of passes. Felton is a phenomenal GPP play, but by no means better than Bayless.
Jarrod Jackson - Lousiana-Lafayette - FD $6,600 DK $4,400
I’ve already mentioned that ULL prefers to run the ball. With that said, Jarrod Jackson emerged last week as a favorite target of Levi Lewis, catching four balls to the second leaving receivers one. Jackson was targeted seven times and twice in the red zone. He’s a senior and trusted by Lewis, and just saw an uptick in playing time last week.
Michael Wilson - UCLA - FD $7,800 DK $5,300
This UCLA defense is miserable, so I don’t mind looking for a Stanford WR or TE here. Colby Parkinson is the big man TE in the middle, with Michael Wilson and Connor Wedington on the outside. Parkinson stands 6-foot-7 and should garner a lot of red-zone looks, but defenses know that. It’s been Michael Wilson instead, who’s still a big target and has the feet to get open in tight spaces. Wilson is my favorite of the bunch, but like Parkinson and Wedington as well.
