Drake Maye fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 6 (2024). Should you start or sit Drake Maye for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Sit
POSITIONAL VALUE: QB3
ANALYSIS: New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye will finally get his first start in Week 6, when he will face the Houston Texans. The third overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft will be the fourth quarterback selected in the first round to earn a starting job. He'll now command a 1-4 team in need of an adrenaline shot.

He's an elite QB prospect, but it's risky starting him in his first game. He should be rostered in all leagues, though. He has an intriguing blend of athleticism and arm strength and made some truly ridiculous plays in his time as QB of the North Carolina Tar Heels.

He can be a great pocket passer while possessing the speed to make a difference with his legs and run out of potential sacks, which will be important considering the Patriots have had very poor offensive line play in 2024.
Drake Maye’s 14% career designed rush rate and 11% scramble rate ranked second behind Jayden Daniels.
He is going to run once he takes the starting job.

He's fast, which is huge for fantasy. He could score a healthy dose of rushing touchdowns and add significant fantasy points with his legs even when he doesn't score. Expect a breakout at some point this season, but it may take a few games for him to get settled. Sit him for now.
