DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks (3/7/16): NBA DFS Advice

By Keith Allison [CC-BY-SA-2.0 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0)], via Wikimedia Commons

Demetri Raftopoulos highlights the top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for 3/7/16. These are the top value and sleeper plays for your DraftKings NBA DFS lineups.

Monday's slate consists of plenty intriguing matchups. My two favorite are the Orlando Magic visiting the Golden State Warriors, and the Sacramento Kings facing off against the New Orleans Pelicans. The last time both sets of teams squared off, fireworks were lit and then ignited onto Daily Fantasy scoresheets.

There are a ton of big names on Monday's card, those of which will be complimented well with the value picks listed below. On a night with seven games, it will be wise to have at least two big money guys.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy NBA lineup picks for DraftKings on 3/7/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from some of the elite players, to mid-priced options, and value plays on DraftKings.

DraftKings DFS Point Guards

Norris Cole (vs SAC, $5,000)

We can ignore Cole's most recent performance, where he scored only six points in 29 minutes against Utah. The Jazz are a very fundamentally sound team on defense and guard the point well. He has recently posted two 21-point performances, both coming over 36 and 35 minutes of court time. Cole is most productive when given that boost in minutes. Now that Cole faces a team on the exact opposite end of that spectrum, he makes for a solid and affordable option at the one spot.

The Sacramento Kings have not been good at defending points guards all season, or anyone for that matter, as they still allow the most points at 109.3 per game. The Pelicans have allowed the seventh most points per game in the league which should result in plenty of scoring from both teams and bloated fantasy lines. This game should be stacked heavily and Cole will help you add someone like DeMarcus Cousins or Anthony Davis to your lineup.

Stephen Curry (vs ORL, $10,600)

It's really hard to ignore that Curry dropped 51 points the last time the Golden State Warriors faced the Orlando Magic; a game where he shot an insane 10-15 from behind the arc. Oh, and he added eight assists and seven rebounds as well. Curry needs no explanation as his tremendous ability to shoot threes and generous stat-spreading makes him worth a nod at any price.

This is another game I recommend stacking. The Magic played the defending champions tough throughout and a lot of guys went off for Daily Fantasy. We can expect the same tonight.

DraftKings DFS Shooting Guards

Evan Fournier (at GS, $5,600)

Depending on the status of Victor Oladipo, who recently missed action because of a back contusion, Fournier's fantasy value could see a great boost against the Warriors. The last time these two teams met, Fournier led his team with 20 points and led his team with 39 minutes played, all with Oladipo in the lineup. The Magic could very well choose to go small again and start both Fournier and Oladipo, if he plays.

Fournier too recently missed three games due to injury and only played 26 minutes in a surprising blowout loss to the Phoenix Suns. That could have simply been attributed to the need to rest Fournier after returning from an injury in a game that was already out of reach. It would still be wise to keep an eye on his health as well, just as precaution, before penciling him in.

Jimmy Butler (vs MIL, $8,400)

Jimmy Butler is back, ladies and gentleman. He didn't simply return to action after missing 11 straight games. He exploded onto the court with 24 points, 11 rebounds and six assists. His injury has not appeared to have set him back at all, or lingered onto the court, and there should be no hesitation before picking Jimmy Buckets.

Milwaukee, as I mentioned in yesterday's article, has been generous to Daily Fantasy lineups, mainly because of how competitive they are and because they allow quite a few points a night as well. The Bucks are also playing in the second leg of a back-to-back.

DraftKings DFS Small Forwards

Lebron James (vs MEM, $9,600)

It's been a season consumed with conversation about the Golden State Warriors. Lebron James is simply doing his best to announce hey, don't forget about me, as he continues to produce effectively and efficiently. Although seeing a slight dip in his points per game compared to his career average, The King is still averaging 6.6 assists and 7.3 rebounds a night. Combine that with 25 to 30 points and you have yourself a really solid fantasy stat line.

Lebron is always a triple-double threat and is coming off an impressive outing against the Boston Celtics; 28 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists, two steals, and one block in 36 minutes. These numbers shouldn't surprise anybody, and it doesn't really matter who his opponent is. Lebron should be considered every time the Cavaliers take the floor.

Wesley Johnson (vs DAL, $4,100)

Johnson is an affordable option that can free up plenty of cap space, and is capable of doing plenty to put a big enough dent in your lineup. Johnson too benefits from a bulk of minutes and should see close to or more than 20 against the Dallas Mavericks in what should be a competitive contest. Recently against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Johnson dropped 11 points, four rebounds, and a noteworthy five steals in 31 minutes.

Jeff Green and Paul Pierce haven't really made much of a case for themselves to receive the most playing time so Johnson shouldn't have a problem getting into the rotation.

DraftKings DFS Power Forwards

DeMarcus Cousins (at NO, $10,200)

It will be especially difficult to have Curry, Lebron, and Cousins in one lineup, but it couldn't hurt to try, or simply use two of the three. Cousins, like the two aforementioned superstars, needs no introduction, nor much of a reason for throwing him onto your squad.

Cousins is another tremendous spreader of stats and has posted double-doubles in six of eight games. The two where he didn't, he was a rebound shy in each. Cousins is a perfect part of a solid stack for Monday's contest between the Kings and Pelicans. It will be fun to watch him and Anthony Davis face off.

David Lee (vs LAC, $4,800)

Lee has benefited nicely from a change of scenery since behind traded to the Mavericks from the Boston Celtics. He has scored in double digits in three of five games in a Mavs uniform, while posting two double doubles in that span, nearly posting a third when he failed to pick up his tenth rebound against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Lee has also tallied a couple of assists, blocks, and steals consistently, and is an extremely affordable option.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Andrew Bogut (vs ORL, $4,600)

Normally I'm a fan of spending up at the center position, but tonight's slate features so many big names that it's necessary to spend down at certain spots. Spending down at center won't compromise your lineup, despite all the solid options.

When the Warriors faced the Magic last, Bogut scored 12 points, grabbed four rebounds, dished out four dimes, picked up two blocks, and one steal in 22 minutes. Bogut has been inconsistent all season but has picked up his game with Festus Ezeli continuing to miss time. Anderson Verejao shouldn't threaten his playing time either.
