DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice - NBA DFS Lineup Picks for 12/21/15

By Keith Allison from Hanover, MD, USA (LeBron James) [CC BY-SA 2.0 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0)], via Wikimedia Commons

Demetri highlights the top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for 12/21/15. These are the top value and sleeper plays for your DraftKings NBA DFS lineups.

It's important to not only focus on the lopsided matchups but also contests consisting of two great teams or two great players that'll likely guard each other. Anything that spells high scoring is gravitating in daily fantasy. If only every game went into multiple overtimes.

Today's lineup features a point guard reclaiming fame away from New York, those looking to continue making the most of injuries, a leader in the Big Apple finally leading, and plenty more.

Check out my Daily NBA Picks for DraftKings, 12/21/15

DraftKings DFS Point Guards

Jeremy Lin (at HOU, $5,200)

Has Linsanity swept through Charlotte? Not exactly, but Lin has taken advantage of injuries, exploding onto scoresheets the past two contests, posting 50.75 and 32.5 fantasy points. Lin's price has skyrocketed, increasing by $1,000 in only two games. With P.J. Hairston now designated to a predominately defensive role for the Hornets, and Al Jefferson serving a five game suspension, the floor opens up for Lin to provide offense. It isn't likely that this sudden revival will last long but for now, grab Lin before his price jumps any higher. He is averaging nearly 40 minutes played in his past two.

Tony Parker (vs IND, $5,100)

All the hype this season has been centered around the 26-1 Golden State Warriors, but the San Antonio Spurs have been quietly dominating the rest of the NBA. Because they've been blowing teams out so often, it's risky to start their big names in daily fantasy. Reduced minutes. Out of the game early in the fourth. Fantasy points lower than projection. But that shouldn't be the case against the tough Indiana Pacers, where all starters should see at least 30 minutes of the court. Parker included, he has scored in double-digits in three straight, adding a double-double Wednesday night against the Wizards in only 26 minutes. His inexpensive price can get you a quick 30 fantasy points.

DraftKings DFS Shooting Guards

Garrett Temple (vs SAC, $4,000)

Despite the revolving door of starting shooting guards in Washington since Bradley Beal went down, Temple may have now solidified his spot in the starting five with his performance Saturday night. In 35 minutes against the Hornets, Temple dropped 21 points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals. If he continues to get those minutes and comes anywhere near to producing the way he did against Charlotte, Temple is worth starting, especially at his price, especially facing the Kings who give up the second most points a night in the NBA.

Jimmy Butler (vs BK, $7,400)

It's not every night that you play 56 minutes and score 43 points, but it's also not every night that two teams play four overtime periods. Well, when that did happen, Butler exploded for 63 fantasy points Friday night in a loss to the Detroit Pistons. Versing the Nets Monday night, Butler can very well break out again, where Brooklyn gives up 102.7 points a contest. I'm ignoring his 12 point performance Saturday night, mainly because it was the second of two straight games, after playing nearly two extra quarters of basketball the night before. Now rested, Butler should exceed his 37.7 fantasy points per game.

DraftKings DFS Small Forwards

Carmelo Anthony (vs ORL, $8,400)

It seems like 'Melo is finally finding his stroke. Until he proves otherwise, he is as smart of a fantasy pick as any. He has shot over 60% from the field in two of his last four games, and has been surprisingly spreading stats across the board. Normally an unlikely candidate for assists, Anthony has 22 assists over a five game span; 47 rebounds to go with them. No one else is really scoring heavily and consistently on the Knicks, so the ball will stay in 'Melo's hands. Ride his hot hand as New York will.

Jared Dudley (vs SAC, $4,400)

Dudley has also benefitted from the bulk of injuries in Washington. Starting in place of the sidelined Drew Gooden and Otto Porter, Dudley saw the floor for 41 minutes and scored 19 points, grabbed nine rebounds, dished out four dimes, and picked up two steals (41.75 fantasy points). An opening for Dudley's production remains with Gooden and Porter expected to miss extended time. Dudley is always a threat from long range, favorable against the Kings who allow the most three point attempts at 28.6 a game.

DraftKings DFS Power Forwards

Jordan Hill (vs SA, $5,000)

Hill has posted three double-doubles in his last four games. Although facing the talented Spurs Monday night, Hill has been recently outplaying starting center Ian Mahinmi and could be called upon for an extended minutes in what should be a close game. Hill has averaged over ten rebounds in his four game productive streak.

Blake Griffin (vs OKC, $8,900)

Griffin's price has dropped down to earth a bit. Good. Makes it easier to scoop him up. Griffin has teetered around and has exceeded the 40 fantasy point mark in nine straight games. The Clippers against the Thunder should be a battle, a possible playoff preview, that is likely to be high scoring and fast paced; showcasing some of the league's best talent. This game will be a lot of fun to watch, highlighting a hefty performance from Griffin. He has dropped 20+ in his past two.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Pau Gasol (vs BK, $7,600)

Gasol didn't make the trip to New York with the Bulls Saturday night, but now he will be well-rested against the vulnerable Brooklyn Nets. Gasol is coming off a 67.25 fantasy point performance, consisting of 30 points, 15 rebounds, five assists, and five blocks. The Nets own the fifth highest opponent field goal percentage at .461, the eighth highest opponent field goals made with 38.6/game, and surrender 5.4 blocks a night. Despite the lopsided matchup on paper, Gasol is an appealing start because of his matchup against Brook Lopez; competitive throughout its entirety.
