DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (10/7/18): MLB DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on October 7th 2018. Elliott Baas's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

We've got the National League playoff games today, and along with the small two-game slate we also have a Coors Field game to maneuver around.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 10/7/18 The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like FanDuel, and other sports too. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @ElliottBaasBB.

DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

Walker Buehler, LAD (@ ATL): $9,500

Buehler is the top pitching option today and gets the best matchup against Atlanta. The Braves had a .313 wOBA and 93 wRC+ against right-handed pitching in the regular season. Atlanta has also been shut out in their first two playoff games, showing little signs of life on offense. Buehler had a 2.62 ERA and 4.08 K/BB ratio in the regular season and is shaping up to be an ace.

Wade Miley, MIL (@ COL): $4,300

This is a strategy play rather than an ability play, because Miley isn’t a safe or high-upside option. Rather, he is by far the cheapest pitcher on this slate and using him allows us to load up on Milwaukee bats in Coors Field. Despite questionable underlying skills Miley did finish with a 2.57 ERA and 0.33 HR/9 in the regular season. The Rockies are averaging only 1.2 runs per game since game 163, though none of those games were in Coors Field. If Miley can survive and give us 10-12 points then the extra money allocated to offense should pay off.

DraftKings DFS Infielders

C – Manny Pina, MIL (@ COL): $3,400 or Erik Kratz: $3,000

We’re just looking for a punt at catcher today and either Milwaukee catcher provides a good option. The Coors Field bump should help elevate what can best be described as glove-first backstops. Just watch the lineups on this one to make sure who is starting behind the plate for Milwaukee.

1B – David Freese, LAD (@ ATL): $4,000

Freese hits third for the Dodgers against lefties, and even at this point in his career Freese can crush lefties. During the regular season Freese hit .321 with an .876 OPS and .168 ISO. Braves starter Sean Newcomb has flashes of talent, but overall he had a 4.54 SIERA and 4.45 BB/9 during the regular season.

2B – Travis Shaw, MIL (@ COL): $4,700

Shaw hits cleanup for Milwaukee against right-handed pitching and his incredible power should play well in Coors Field. He had an .886 OPS and .285 ISO against right-handed pitching this season. Rockies starter German Marquez finished the season strong, but still had a 4.74 ERA and 1.31 HR/9 at home this season.

3B – Mike Moustakas, MIL (@ COL): $4,500

Moustakas is similar to Travis Shaw, a left-handed power hitter in the middle of Milwaukee’s order. Moustakas had a .798 OPS and .230 ISO against righties in the regular season.

SS – Chris Taylor, LAD (@ ATL): $4,000

The Dodgers have a lot of platoon bats that play against lefties, which make lineup construction easier since we have so many value options. Taylor is one of those platoon players, and sometimes hits leadoff against lefties. Taylor should be a nice table-setter for Los Angeles and a high-floor option at shortstop.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

OF – Christian Yelich, MIL (@ COL): $6,200

Yelich has been the best player in baseball over the second half, and now he takes that hot bat to Coors Field. In the second half Yelich hit .367 with 25 home runs and a 1.209 OPS. He is the most expensive hitter on this slate but worth paying up for in this matchup.

OF – Ryan Braun, MIL (@ COL): $5,100

Braun has been on fire over the past month, but he was overshadowed by Yelich. In September Braun had a .963 OPS and .324 ISO along with six home runs and has moved up to third in the batting order.

OF – Matt Kemp, LAD (@ ATL): $4,300

Kemp crushed left-handers during the regular season with an .828 OPS and .235 ISO. He hits fifth for the Dodgers against lefties and should have plenty of opportunities to drive in runs in this matchup.
