DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (4/5/16): MLB DFS Advice

Jason Bales highlights the top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for 4/5/16. These are the top value and sleeper plays for your DraftKings MLB DFS lineups.

Baseball is finally underway!

There are a few great stacks on the board tonight, along with some solid 50/50 and tournament pitching options. Read on to find out who to play today and tonight.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for DraftKings on 4/5/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on DraftKings.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on DraftKings

New York Mets

The New York Mets are playing the Kansas City Royals today, who are going to really struggle with pitching this season. The Mets are currently projected to score 4.1 runs, and they are one of the better stacks for both 50/50 contests and tournaments.

Tampa Bay Rays

The Tampa Bay Rays are an under-the-radar kind of offense. Today, they get a great matchup against Aaron Sanchez and the Toronto Blue Jays. Projected at over four runs, they make for a very sneaky tournament stack due to the low prices of their players.

San Francisco Giants

It should be rather obvious that the San Francisco Giants make for a great stack tonight. The Milwaukee Brewers are horrible at pitching, and the Giants are projected to score 4.2 runs. Jimmy Nelson is not going to stop their very powerful offense.

Arizona Diamondbacks

The Arizona Diamondbacks have a great offense, and the Colorado Rockies have a horrible pitching staff. This is supposed to be a very high scoring game, as it is played in Arizona, one of the most hitter-friendly ballparks. Do not avoid the Diamondbacks. They are projected to score 4.9 runs tonight.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on DraftKings

Scott Kazmir

Scott Kazmir gets a great matchup tonight against the San Diego Padres, and the Los Angeles Dodgers, despite facing James Shields, are projected to win this game. Kazmir is only projected to give up 3.4 runs, which is one of the lowest totals of the night. Petco Park is great for pitchers, and Kazmir is fairly cheap. Use him in both 50/50 contests and tournaments.

Johnny Cueto

Yes, Johnny Cueto did struggle at the end of last season, but that could of been because he was pitching in the AL. He is back to pitching in the NL now, and he gets a great matchup against the Milwaukee Brewers, who could be the worst offensive team in the entire league. They are projected to score under four runs, so Cueto should fair well tonight.

Jon Niese

The Pittsburgh Pirates are surprisingly projected at even with the St. Louis Cardinals. Both teams are currently projected to score 3.5 runs, which is great for Niese because he is much cheaper than Michael Wacha. At such a low price point, it makes sense to use Niese in a couple of tournament lineups.

DFS Infielders to Consider on DraftKings

Buster Posey - Catcher (C)

Buster Posey looked great in his first game of the season, as he posted a multi-hit game with a home run and a walk. He should continue to play well this entire series against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Stephen Piscotty - First Base (1B)

The St. Louis Cardinals are not projected to score a lot of runs, but they do get a great matchup against the Pittsburgh Pirates and Jon Niese. Niese is not a very consistent pitcher, and Piscotty played extremely well last season. The Cardinals have a lot of confidence in him, and he is still rather cheap on DraftKings.

Logan Forsythe - Second Base (2B)

Logan Forsythe is one of the better second base options on the board tonight because he is leading off for the Tampa Bay Rays. The Rays are projected to score quite a few runs, and Forsythe will have to be part of that. He started the season off slow so far, but that can turn around in an instant in baseball.

Jean Segura - Shortstop (SS)

Jean Sugura is hitting in one of the most hitter-friendly parks in the league, and the Arizona Diamondbacks are projected to score a lot of runs. On top of that, Segura is leading off, or should be. Last night, he had two singles and a run, which is a solid outing, but his potential is much higher.

Matt Duffy - Third Base (3B)

When looking at Duffy, it is hard to see exactly where his power comes from, but he just continues to hit home runs. Yesterday, he had a multi-hit game with a home run and quite a few RBIs. He is still pretty cheap, and he is third base and first base eligible, making it easy to fit him into that lineup.

DFS Outfielders to Consider on DraftKings

Yoenis Cespedes

Yoenis Cespedes is a fantastic hitting outfielder, and he makes for a great play in all formats tonight. The New York Mets did not look great in their first game, but their offense should be able to turn things around. Cespedes looked like he was seeing the ball well, and he is one of the better outfielders on the board. Use him in all formats.

Denard Span

Denard Span looked great for the San Francisco Giants yesterday. He started off the back-to-back-to-back home run spree at the end of the game, and prior to that, he was hitting the ball well. Leading off for the Giants, he should score a lot of runs, and Nelson is not going to keep him from doing that. He is a great play in all formats until he gets hurt, which is likely going to happen around mid-season.

Corey Dickerson

Corey Dickerson is a great hitter, and the Tampa Bay Rays are a great tournament stack tonight. That said, make sure to use Dickerson if the Rays' stack is the path you choose. Dickerson hit over .300 last season, and he has a lot of power. He is consistent with solid upside. What more can you ask for?
