DJ Herz is a fantasy baseball waiver wire pickup for Week 11 (2024). Target DJ Herz as a top prospect free-agent add for fantasy baseball.
BALLER MOVE: Add in 15+/NL-Only Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 1% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Washington Nationals starting pitching prospect DJ Herz made his major league debut on Tuesday, June 4, against the New York Mets.
The southpaw tossed four innings of four-run ball with seven hits, three free passes, and three strikeouts. While this debut was not valuable from a fantasy perspective, he has done well in the minors this season and is worth considering in deeper leagues.

The 23-year-old opened this season by making his Triple-A debut and logged 36 total innings. He got out to a rough start as he held a 5.00 ERA, 1.67 WHIP, and a 17:17 BB:K ratio through his first 18 innings.
However, in his final 18 innings with Triple-A Rochester, he posted a much improved 2.50 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and 12:25 BB:K ratio.
Despite the potential impact on your whip ratio due to his walk rate, Herz's elite strikeout potential makes him a valuable addition in deeper leagues. With Trevor Williams (forearm) on the 15-day IL, Herz is expected to receive several starts over the following weeks.
