Closers, Saves Fantasy Baseball Rankings: Top 230 Relief Pitchers for Points Leagues - March Updates

Ryan Walker - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Updated RotoBaller's updated top 230 relief pitcher (RP) points league fantasy baseball rankings, updated for March 2025. Win your drafts with our points league and H2H points rankings.

At RotoBaller HQ, we continue churning out fantasy baseball content for points leagues and are back with our 2025 fantasy baseball relief pitcher rankings and tiers for points leagues. Closers are not as valuable in points leagues compared to roto leagues, as there are various ways for relievers to accrue points instead of locking down the coveted save category. Starters with RP eligibility, such as Clay Holmes, can be more valuable than a traditional closer or reliever as they can rack up more points in a starting relief spot.

Holmes was named the Mets Opening Day starter after posting a 1.29 ERA, 0.71 WHIP, and 15 strikeouts over 14 spring innings in 2025. He would be pushed up in fantasy drafts and is currently 16th among all relievers in our latest RP point leagues rankings. With only two relievers (Edwin Diaz and Emmanuel Clase) ranked in the top 100, fantasy managers can wait to draft a reliever later in drafts. Some other notable starters with relief pitcher eligibility that can be a value in the later rounds include Bowden Francis, Nick Martinez, Drew Rasmussen, and Grant Holmes.

The RP rankings below are specifically designed for points leagues, put together by RotoBaller's MLB points expert Nicklaus Gaut. We also have many other fantasy baseball rankings, tools, and resources to help you win in 2025, including our constantly-updated fantasy baseball points rankings for all positions. Relief Pitcher Rankings for Points Leagues (March)

These rankings are for points and head-to-head points leagues. You can also see our roto fantasy baseball rankings.

Before we get to the rankings, let's quickly review points leagues and how they differ from other formats. Typically, points leagues have different league settings and scoring formats than other fantasy baseball leagues. Different MLB stats and categories are assigned different point values, and those can vary by individual league settings. Those different point buckets are then added up over the course of a scoring period or season.

In many cases, hitters who walk more and strike out less are preferred for points leagues. Also, many league formats tend to give more weight to pitchers than normal, as they can easily accrue points through categories like Innings Pitched. These are the general frameworks that we use for our points league rankings below, and explain why they look different than more standard 5x5 roto fantasy baseball rankings.
