Mayfield was the second-highest-scoring quarterback in PPR leagues in Week 1 with 29.7 points. He will now face off against the Detroit Lions in Week 2, with a chance to earn more respect.

The Buccaneers quarterback threw for 289 yards and four touchdowns against the Commanders. His chemistry with Mike Evans looks off the charts and the Buccaneers' offense looks quite scary with Chris Godwin, Rachaad White, and Jalen McMillan stepping up.
The Lions are Super Bowl contenders, but it was not a comfortable win for them in Week 1 against the Rams. Matthew Stafford threw for 317 yards against them, and Mayfield can do the same in Week 2. This makes the Buccaneers star a viable option to start if you have him on your fantasy football team.
The Buccaneers lost against the Lions in the NFC Divisional Round game last season. In that game, Mayfield threw for 349 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions.
Even if the NFC South franchise loses to the Lions, Mayfield will not leave without a fight and will likely put up big numbers, which helps in fantasy football.
