Kacey Kasem - RotoBaller

288 articles

Kacey Kasem's first memories start with football. Born and raised in the Dallas area, sports have always been a passion. A lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, Kacey grew up watching the '90s glory years (a gift that made up for the heartbreak since). Tony Romo remains her favorite player, and she'll defend the man forever. She's been obsessed with fantasy football since 2011, when she joined her first league (and won). Since 2018, her fantasy football content has been featured at Fantasy Six Pack, Optimus Fantasy, Fighting Chance Fantasy, and The Fantasy Footballers. RotoBaller became her home in 2024. As a fantasy football analyst, Kacey enjoys breaking down draft strategies, ranking kickers each week, and finding deep waiver adds. She is fascinated by the psychology of fantasy leagues (reading other managers and finding ways to get an edge). Her focus is mainly on redraft, but she's been playing dynasty since 2018. Kacey hosts Get Real with Kacey Kasem, a podcast that takes a look behind the scenes of the fantasy football industry. The show is a three-time FSWA finalist for Best Fantasy Sports Podcast. Additionally, Kacey speaks at the Fantasy Football Expo as part of the Women in Fantasy Football panel. She also participates in the Queen’s Classic Draft and organizes the Dallas Scott Fish Bowl Live Draft.

Jordan Love, Russell Wilson, Caleb Williams: Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Picks for Fantasy Football Week 3

Quarterback injuries are stacking up, and now managers must look to other options. With Joe Burrow (toe), Brock Purdy (toe/shoulder), Justin Fields (concussion), and J.J. McCarthy (ankle) all banged up, you might be wondering where to turn. There are some options you might be looking at: Russell Wilson is on just 14% of rosters in […]

Time to Drop Colston Loveland? Fantasy Football Week 3 Waiver Wire Outlook (2025)

Remember when the Bears drafted Colston Loveland in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, and we were wondering what that meant for Cole Kmet? Now we're trying to figure out what's going on at the TE position in Chicago. Loveland was supposed to bring instant production to the offense. The Bears clearly had […]

Time to Drop Evan Engram? Fantasy Football Week 3 Waiver Wire Outlook (2025)

The first two weeks of the season have been tough for Denver's passing game and fantasy managers alike. There was much hype around Sean Payton's offense, bringing in Evan Engram to add life to the TE position. So far, the TE expected to be "Joker" hasn't done much, and managers are wondering if the joke […]

Mason Taylor Injury Report: Will Taylor Play in Week 2 for Fantasy Football?

The Jets selected Mason Taylor in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft, and he entered Week 1 as the team's No. 1 tight end. His debut wasn't anything to write home about, but fantasy managers should keep an eye on his role moving forward. Rookie tight ends often start slow before receiving larger […]

Week 2 Kicker Streamers and Starts - 2025 Fantasy Tiers, Rankings

Welcome back to our fantasy football kicker streamers, starts and tiered rankings for Week 2 of the 2025 season. If you want to convince folks that kickers aren't boring, direct them to the opening week. Chris Boswell drilled a 60-yard field goal, the longest of his career. Matt Prater, just called up from the practice […]

DK Metcalf, Davante Adams, Mike Evans: Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Picks for Fantasy Football Week 2

Can you believe we're already in Week 2 of the NFL season? Time, slow down! This is the week where it's easy to overreact to big performances (or slow starts) to begin the season. Many lineup decisions can be difficult to make, especially this early in the season. Three familiar names who carry strong track […]

Juwan Johnson, Hunter Henry, Brenton Strange: Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Picks for Fantasy Football Week 2

Week 2 lineup calls at the tight end position can be complicated, as we witness every season. Unless you drafted one of the elite options, you're probably debating between a guy you hope continues to see volume and a guy who depends on touchdowns to be relevant. After the opening week, we were able to […]

When Is George Kittle Coming Back? Injury Update and Fantasy Football Outlook (Week 2)

The 49ers' star tight end George Kittle exited Sunday's contest against the Seattle Seahawks with a right hamstring injury. That's heartbreaking news for San Francisco and fantasy football managers alike. Before the injury, Kittle had contributed with four catches for 25 yards and a score. Managers drafted Kittle to make an impact, which he did […]

Jerome Ford - Fantasy Football Rankings, Waiver Wire Pickups, NFL Injury News

Should I Drop Jerome Ford? Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Outlook for Week 2 (2025)

Fantasy managers entered Week 1 expecting Jerome Ford to be the lead running back for the Cleveland Browns. The team took on the Bengals in Week 1, and it felt like a decent spot for Ford to succeed. Unfortunately, he left managers frustrated as they watched rookie Dylan Sampson take control. The Browns' offense was […]

C.J. Stroud - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Should I Drop C.J. Stroud? Fantasy Football Outlook for Week 2 (2025)

You might be questioning your draft-day selections after Week 1, especially if you took C.J. Stroud as your quarterback. Stroud entered 2025 with expectations of being that reliable weekly starter fantasy managers could count on, but the season opener didn't inspire confidence. C.J. Stroud called the Rams loss a “wake up call.” When asked why […]

Drake London Injury Update: Will London Play in Week 2 for Fantasy Football?

We saw plenty of highs, lows, and all the in between in the opening week. For fantasy managers, whenever a player gets taken out of a game, it's tough. It's even tougher when it happens to a star player in your starting lineup. That is what happened with fantasy managers and the Falcons on Sunday, […]

Week 1 Kicker Streamers and Starts - 2025 Fantasy Tiers, Rankings

I'm currently in Alaska, and we got to do one of the coolest excursions today. We took a helicopter to the Meade Glacier, walked around, and had the opportunity to drink clean water straight from the source. (If you ever get the chance to do this, do not pass it up!) I knew I was […]

Will Darnell Mooney Play in Week 1? Fantasy Football Injury Update (2025)

The Atlanta Falcons might be without their wide receiver Darnell Mooney as they take on the Buccaneers in Week 1. He is listed as questionable for Sunday’s contest, as the wideout has been dealing with a shoulder injury. The sixth-year WR has been missing from action since the first practice of training camp. Look for […]

Overvalued Fantasy Football Tight Ends: 5 Potential Big-Name Busts to Avoid (2025)

Many managers draft like this when it comes to tight ends: grab an elite option early or fade the position entirely (opting for late dart throws and streamers). Both options can work. The problem is those tight ends in the middle zone; players with safe names that feel "fine" to draft. Tight end scoring is […]

Top Wide Receiver Rebound Candidates - Fantasy Football Draft Targets With Upside (2025)

Every fantasy football season, you draft your team and feel good about it. Then, disaster strikes. Your top wide receiver ends up with five points per week, and your championship dreams fly right out the window. Here's the thing... bad seasons are inevitable. Injuries, coaching changes, team dynamics, and bad luck can turn your big […]

The 8 Biggest Mistakes Fantasy Football Players Make: Kasey's Expert Advice and Analysis (2025)

What makes fantasy football so much fun is the lessons you learn as you play. Sure, you can do all the research and suffer from carpal tunnel from all the mock drafts you've participated in, but nothing compares to "learning on the job". Every season, we deal with our fair share of "never again" moments. […]

5 Late-Round Fantasy Football Wide Receiver Sleepers and Value Picks: Upside WRs to Draft (2025)

Back in 2020, when everyone was finding new hobbies, I decided to try my hand at flipping and reselling. There was something about digging through the shelves and finding that one hidden gem (like that vintage Houston Oilers shark tooth hat that made me shake). A $2 flip turned into something way more valuable. That's […]

5 Undervalued Fantasy Football Tight Ends: Kacey's Must-Have TEs with Upside (2025)

I’m sure you’re used to hearing it by now. The tight-end position in fantasy football always feels like dart throw after dart throw if you don’t pay up early for one of the elite guys. Once you get past those guys, you’re sifting through a pile of names that don’t inspire confidence. Part of the […]

5 Sophomore Wide Receiver Breakout Candidates: Second-Year Players to Draft (2025)

Lately, I've found myself in a deep YouTube rabbit hole watching people play GeoGuessr. Some people […]

Kicker Fantasy Football Rankings - Top 10 Kickers for 2025 Drafts

The Fantasy Football Expo always seems to go by so quickly. While catching up with the RotoBaller crew one night in Canton, the talk turned to kickers. This was the very same night Cam Little drilled a 70-yard field goal in preseason. So, yes, kicker talk was all around. Kickers can make or break your […]

Sneaky Fantasy Football QB-WR Stacks to Targets: Cheap Value Stacks to Chase (2025)

One of the best ways to gain an edge over others in your fantasy football league is by stacking a quarterback with one (or more) of his pass-catchers. This is especially true in best ball or deeper leagues. If both players go off in the same week, you've got yourself a combo that can help […]

Best Ball Fantasy Football Mock Draft - RotoBaller Staff Strategies, Roster Construction, Sleepers, Value Picks

You've probably heard your favorite fantasy football analyst say it: "I'd only draft that guy in Best Ball". What does that mean, really? When someone says they'd only take a player in Best Ball, they're usually referring to players who are prone to spike weeks. That's one of the biggest reasons Best Ball can be […]

4 Cheap Dynasty Trade Targets: Bargain-Bin Fantasy Football Buys in 2025

What a weekend! I was in charge of organizing the Scott Fish Bowl Live Drafts in Dallas. This is Dallas' (and my) third year hosting the event, and it was such a fun time. It's weird hosting an event when nothing goes off the rails, especially since all the other years felt so stressful. Shout […]

16 Fantasy Football Breakout Candidates or Undervalued Sleepers: One Selection for Each NFC Team

Finding cheap difference-makers is one of my favorite things about the fantasy football draft. It's so fun stumbling across the late-round pick or overlooked player that turns into a game-changer. I don't have any kids, so I need someone to be proud of. Recognizing sleeper candidates across the NFC who could easily outperform their average […]

Sneaky TE1 Candidates for 2025 Fantasy Football - 4 Tight End Sleepers

The tight-end position always looks like a mess when it comes to fantasy football. You have the elite options that fly off the board early, followed by a few mid-tier names that feel safe (but boring). The rest of the TE landscape equates to touchdown-dependent dart throws. Every year, a few of those dart-throw players […]

5 Undervalued Dynasty Wide Receivers: Fantasy Football Sleepers and Targets

Fantasy football dynasty startup season is one of my favorite seasons. Quietly stashing these guys and seeing them morph into weekly starters by Thanksgiving is something that gets me in […]

6 Fantasy Football Offenses to Target and Avoid in Drafts: Team Outlooks and Player Analysis (2025)

Fantasy football managers want to know which explosive offenses to stack and which murky situations to steer clear of. If the quarterback is a […]

4 Rookie Fantasy Football Tight End Breakout Candidates: Player Outlooks and Projections (2025)

You're here because you want to know which rookie tight ends will break out this season in fantasy. It doesn't happen often. Between 2016 and 2024, only five rookie TEs truly broke out. Every one of those players was drafted in the first two rounds of the NFL Draft (top 35). Hunter Henry recorded eight […]

How To Value Fantasy Football Dynasty Draft Picks

Everybody thinks they know the value of draft picks until it comes time to make a trade. Pick value is one of the most complicated concepts in dynasty fantasy football.
